Four Four Beat Labs is a digital pedagogies incubator.
Circa 2007. Remixed in 2012.
We design curriculum, and we produce educational content originated by the influences of popular culture, music, technology, and media. We focus our products on secondary and post-secondary youth influencers. That is, teachers and students alike.
So, our aim is three-fold: (1) to design culturally-resilient analysis tools that enhance their civic engagement capacities, (2) to stimulate their social justice literacies in ways that impact just sustainabilities in the communities in which they live and work, and (3) to create open source media products that can be easily-integrated into educational standards – particularly in justice-oriented humanities instruction.
We are currently located in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
